Murder Mystery Party Case Files: Underwood Cellars

Overall, a fun group activity! There were some nice touches to the physical materials, like Polaroids and adhesive notes, newsprint, and other paper. There were some clues that were difficult to parse whether they were clues or not, which sounds like the point but when they’re critical to the story it made things a bit tougher than necessary.

Underwood Cellars doesn't really bring anything new to the crime solving game genre, but it still nails the execution. Lots of attention to detail, a well written mystery, and tons of evidence to pour through make this a fun solve solo or in a group. I do think the culprit is just a bit too obvious but that does depend on experience with these types of games.

I wasn't sure how this game would work for our family game night because it was very different than the usual types of games we play. However, I'm so glad I pushed everyone to play! It was a HIT! We had teenagers (the hardest critics) and adults playing. With ages spanning across 3 different generations, everyone loved it. Once we started, everyone was fully engaged in trying to solve the clues and figure who did the crime! Can't wait for the next time we put our detective hats back on and solve another crime!

This has been such a fun addition to my game night repertoire. Initially, I had some qualms about another murder mystery game on the market, but Case Files is different. There’s so much evidence, and the stories are fun, well written, and the world is well carved out. Looking forward to getting a class in Vischy Springs (but probably not from Underwood Cellars!)

Who doesn't love a good murder mystery!? This game was extremely well made. It is very realistic from handwritten post it notes to opened envelopes with the seal torn. The amount of evidence and details packed into the game makes me wonder if it was stolen from a real investigation. We had so much fun attempting to solve this murder mystery. Our team of investigators ranged from 30 years old to 80. It was engaging and enjoyable for all of us, keeping us entertained for a couple hours.
