Murder Mystery Party - The Night Hunter Game

This game was fun, but it was really long! We broke it up into three parts, but we spent about five hours on it. You can play with just one person, but it is definitely more fun with more people. There's several chapters with different evidence and objectives. It's definitely for the older kids or adults.

We LOVED this game! My husband and I are huge mystery fans and love solving puzzles. We’re those people that have never failed an escape room. And this game did not disappoint. It was very thorough and immersive, and didn’t feel thrown together. It tells a story and the clues are solvable but not always obvious. It’s not replayable (you know what happens!), but you definitely can pack it all back up and hand it off to a friend for them to play, which is also a great way to share games with your community. 11/10 would recommend.

This was a fantastic game when it comes to a murder mystery. So much to look at and try to link together. Much more than just papers to inspect. If gives you a blacklight to use and also uses a website to log into that had interviews and information to look at. This added depth to the investigation. It does include hints as well if you are stuck. It made for a perfect date night or 2 for me and my wife. The difficulty ramped up the further we got into the investigation and really made you think. We would highly recommend this for a game night with friends and family.

There are 4 chapters in this game broken up into parts where you have to figure out a key piece of evidence to solve the crime. You are given a lot of materials to start and you have to figure out how to piece them together to get the information you’re looking for. It often feels like a lot at first, but you can slowly start to connect the dots and eventually find out what you need and it feels so satisfying when you do. I don’t want to reveal too much about the specifics of this game, but the use of a ultraviolet flashlight to discover hidden things and the fact that one of the murder was in our home city of Albuquerque, NM we’re just two of the fun little nuggets we found while playing through this game. If you love murder mysteries, this is a game for you to try out!

I've been collecting murder mystery games for quite some time and now have over 40 of them in my possession. And yet I have never played one quite like this.

Starting out proved to be a bit confusing and overwhelming with so much going on at once. Figuring out the process and how to properly use the digital tie in took a little time. I think the one piece I would have included would be to state that you do actually need to just click on the solution folder on the website once you have come up with an answer in order to proceed. Initially it seemed like clicking that would just be a straight up spoiler but it is in fact a crucial part of the process.

We ended up spending a good chunk of time on the very first objective while we figured out the process for everything. From there on things got way better. With an understanding of how things worked, we quickly figured out more objectives and got through things way faster enjoying every step of the way and the linear progression of everything.

Overall, our group really enjoyed this and we are already discussing what our next one will be.

Giving this 4 stars because if the instructions were a bit clearer from the beginning we could have saved some time. A quick tutorial mini session with a step by step guide would easily do the trick.
